Manufacturing Foreman
The Manufacturing Foreman oversees daily production operations on the shop floor to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. This role provides hands-on leadership to production teams, coordinates workflow, troubleshoots issues, and supports continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Oversight
Supervise day-to-day operations of assigned production area(s).
Plan, schedule, and assign work to meet production deadlines.
Monitor production output and adjust staffing or processes as needed.
Ensure proper use of machinery, tools, and equipment.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, train, coach, and evaluate production employees.
Uphold company policies, work rules, and safety standards.
Conduct shift meetings, communicate expectations, and foster teamwork.
Support hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary actions in coordination with HR.
Quality & Safety
Ensure all products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
Perform quality checks and assist with root-cause analysis when issues arise.
Enforce safety rules and promote a safety-first culture.
Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA and company regulations.
Continuous Improvement
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Minimize downtime through proactive troubleshooting and coordination with maintenance teams.
Analyze production data and contribute to operational planning.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate production records, shift logs, and reports.
Monitor inventory levels of materials and supplies; request replenishment as needed.
Communicate production status, issues, and recommendations to management.
Qualifications:
Required
High school diploma or equivalent.
3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing or production.
Prior supervisory or team-lead experience.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and safety regulations.
Ability to read technical drawings, work orders, and production documentation.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
Associate or bachelor’s degree in industrial management, manufacturing technology, or a related field.
Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
Proficiency with ERP or production management systems.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials (e.g., up to 50 lbs) for extended periods.
Work in a manufacturing environment with noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
The is an exempt position offers a salary range of $69,999 to $109,999 per year.
